What is a Day Master?
A BaZi chart has four pillars: year, month, day, and hour. The top character of the day pillar is the Day Master. It is one of the ten Heavenly Stems, combining one of the Five Elements with either Yin or Yang polarity.
Western astrology often starts with the Sun sign for identity. BaZi starts with the Day Master, then reads how other stems, branches, elements, and timing cycles support, pressure, express, or transform that core.
